A Sanctuary in the Making
Cedar Paddock Hobby Farm was born out of stress, anxiety, and the need for change. The weight of everyday pressures and the restless energy of constant demands pushed me to seek something simpler, slower, and more authentic. I knew I needed a sanctuary — a place to breathe again, reconnect with the earth, and find joy in the details of everyday life.
When I found this little piece of land, with its three giant cedar trees standing tall, I knew it was the beginning of something new. Here, I began to build not just a farm, but a way of life rooted in stewardship for animals, respect for the land, and creativity that brings peace.
Stitch by Stitch, Feather by Feather
Crochet became part of that sanctuary. What started as a way to ease my anxious hands and busy mind turned into the Anxious Chickens — soft, whimsical companions stitched with nervous energy transformed into joy.
Many are named after my real flock, whose chatter, quirks, and companionship remind me to slow down and laugh. A few are named after students, a way to honor the lives that touched mine and taught me as much as I taught them.
Just like the animals in my paddock, each handmade piece has its own personality. They are never identical — and that uniqueness is what makes them special.
