Margot

Margot is a Brahma, which means she comes equipped with majestic size, feathered pantaloons, and the confidence of someone who has never once doubted herself.

When she goes broody, it is not a phase. It is a campaign.

Margot does not simply sit on eggs. She acquires them. She will relocate eggs that are not hers. She will expand her portfolio. She will flatten herself like a Victorian fainting couch and dare anyone to challenge her authority. This is not theft. It is strategic consolidation.

Her feathered legs (the pantaloons) add a level of theatrical drama to every movement. When she plants herself in a nesting box, it feels historical. Monumental. Slightly tyrannical.

Margot is stubborn in the way that mountains are stubborn. Once she has decided something is happening — sitting, stealing, glaring, refusing — it is happening. Negotiation is adorable, but ineffective.

Outside of broody season, she carries herself with stately calm. During broody season, she becomes a fortified structure with feathers.
