Welcome to Pretty Organic by Cedar Paddock Hobby Farm 🌱🐓

Hi friends, and welcome! I’m Angie—teacher by trade, hobby farmer by heart. This little corner of the internet is where I get to bring both of those worlds together and share the pieces of life that make me who I am.

My story starts in a life that was always moving. My dad was in the U.S. Army, which meant our family packed up often, and my mom—who came to the States from Korea—worked hard to create a life in a brand-new country. I spent a lot of time figuring things out on my own, and along the way I learned independence, resilience, and how to find joy in simple things. Looking back, I can see how much those lessons shaped the way I teach, farm, and live today.

Teaching has always been a calling for me. There’s nothing better than watching that spark when someone learns something new or discovers what they’re capable of. Whether I’m in the classroom or designing creative lessons, I try to make learning fun, hands-on, and meaningful.

But when the school day is over, you’ll find me at home on Cedar Paddock Hobby Farm here in Missouri. Our little farm is full of personality: chickens (including a mischievous hen or two), a sassy guinea hen named Earlinda, our dogs who keep things lively, a pond that glitters in the sunshine, and an orchard and garden that keep me grounded in the rhythm of the seasons. Farming is a lot like teaching—it takes patience, care, and a little faith that the effort you put in will grow into something beautiful.

This blog is my way of weaving those two worlds together. Here, I’ll share stories from the farm, resources from my classroom, creative projects (like crochet and amigurumi), and reflections on the ups and downs of learning and living. My hope is that it feels a little like sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee, swapping stories, and finding inspiration in everyday moments.

Life hasn’t always been easy, but every twist and turn has brought me right here—to teaching, farming, creating, and sharing. And I wouldn’t trade it.
